If the document is issued in Bulgaria, an original with an ink seal and two signatures – of a Judge / Chairperson and an official is required. The document is submitted first in the Ministry of Justice and after that it is translated and submitted to the Consular Relations Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for certification of the translation.

If the document is issued outside Bulgaria, but by a country which signed the Hague Convention, the document must have an Apostille. The document is translated and then submitted to the Consular Relations Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where the translation is certified.
